Learn more about each wellness practice in the series below: Week 1 (7/9): Mindfulness Mindfulness practices are based on the idea that much of our stress and anxiety comes from worrying about things that either happened in the past or may happen in the future (ex: a disagreement with a loved one, an upcoming project, a presentation, etc.) With mindfulness practices we work to bring awareness to the present moment to provide mental clarity that allows us to then take necessary action in the present moment without stress or worry.
Week 2 (7/16): Meditation Meditation is a process of quiet inner reflection. It is an excellent tool for calming the mind to promote mental clarity, creative solutions and improved focus.
Week 3 (7/23): Breathwork Breathwork is an essential practice for calming not just the mind but also the central nervous system. Our nervous system is what controls our "fight or flight" response also known as anxiety. Breathwork helps restore balance not just in the mind but in the body as well.
Week 4 (7/30): Yoga Yoga is a practice growing in popularity all over the world because of its calming effect on the body, mind and spirit. With several other mental/emotional tools in this program our yoga practice focuses on simple and easy stretches that can be done to release tension from the body. Numerous studies have shown that mental and emotional stresses get stored as tension in the physical body, this combined with our stagnant lifestyles leaves our bodies with chronic pain. Yoga helps relieve the pain and tension.
Week 5 (8/6): Journaling Journaling is the practice of writing down thoughts, feelings, and experiences. It is a powerful tool for self-reflection, self-expression, and personal growth. By putting your thoughts into words, journaling helps clarify your emotions, enhance self-awareness, and reduce stress. It can also boost creativity, improve problem-solving skills, and provide a safe space for exploring ideas and setting goals. A simple yet transformative practice.
Week 6 (8/13): EFT Tapping Emotional Freedom Technique also called EFT or Tapping is a fusion of talk therapy and self acupressure. This tool combines eastern and western philosophies to effectively help individuals process through negative thoughts and emotions
